The West Tigers and the North Queensland Cowboys beat the Canterbury Bulldogs in the National Rugby League season. If rugby league has a future, competing against serious challenges from the Australian Football League (AFL) and the rugby union, it will be because of teams like the Cowboys.

The beating incident, which took place at Aussie Stadium on April 2004 by the supports of the Bulldogs who were liquored, is described. The Bulldogs had many support inspite of them being accused as rapists.
