The trouble with boys

Article Abstract:

Boys across the nation and in every demographic group are falling behind and in elementary school, boys are two times more likely than girls to be diagnosed with learning disabilities and twice as likely to be placed in special-education classes. In neighborhoods where fathers are most scarce, the high-school dropout rates are shocking and more than half of African-American boys who start high school do not finish.

'A problem in the brain'

Adults are increasingly being diagnosed with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), a problem previously thought to affect only children. However, the American Psychiatric Association believes that diagnosing ADHD in adults can be tricky, and the symptoms have to be severe enough to disrupt both work and family life.
