Article Abstract:

Australia is worried that a major terrorist attack might swamp its medical resources. Australia's leading trauma surgeons are calling on the federal government to create a national trauma plan to deal with the aftermath of disaster or terrorist attack, as the lack of communication and co-ordination might lead severely injured patients shuttled around the country in search of a bed and surgeon qualified to treat them.

Remote fire fighters

Article Abstract:

One method to protect remote areas of Australia from fire damage is to deploy sensors in those regions. The sensors are simple, comprised of a small processor, a solar sell, a remote transceiver and several sensors; however, establishing a network that would receive data from them will require further work. One way would be have the sensors create a virtual telecommunications network.
