N.S. halts $30-million sale of Sysco

Article Abstract:

The sale of Sydney, NS-based Sydney Steel Corp. to a consortium, which includes Akron, Ohio-based Reserve Group and Canada's Titanium Co., has been blocked by the Nova Scotia government. The deal, which has been valued at $30 million, leaves Sysco's 700 workers up in the air about their future.

U.S. firm snaps up CAE's marine division: Company to focus on aviation assets

CAE Inc., Canadian flight simulator maker has revealed the first phase of its back-to-basics aviation strategy by selling its marine unit for $276-million to US defense contractor L-3 Communications Corp. CAE that is presently at Toronto intends to concentrate on training pilots and building flight simulators as it seeks to expand in the military and commercial aviation market.
