U.S. giant Anadarko snags tiny Calgary gas company

The US energy giant Anadarko Petroleum Corp. acquired Access Northeast Energy Inc. just days after the tiny Calgary company secured key government approvals for a $500-million liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant. This acquisition helped in accelerating Canada's entry into a crucial emerging part of the global energy market.

CGI bulks up again with major US deal

CGI Group Inc., Canada's largest computer services company in its latest step to bulk up through takeovers acquired American Management Systems Inc., (AMS) its second major purchase in over a year. CGI would take over AMS, a computer services based in Virginia near Washington D.C., for $1.14-billion.
