Validation of the mobility subscale of the Braden Scale for predicting pressure sore risk

Article Abstract:

Actigraphy as a direct measure for the frequency of movement was used to establish the convergent construct validity of the Braden mobility subscale. Pair wise comparison of the mean activity for four subscale score groups plotted, producing a histogram in which higher scores were associated with greater activity, indicated that only the subgroup with a score of 4 members was significantly different in mean activity from the other three score groups.

Midlife women's adherence to home-based walking during maintenance

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to describe midlife women's adherence to home-based walking during maintenance and identify the effects of background characteristics and self-efficacy for overcoming barriers to exercise. Results suggest that both self-efficacy for overcoming barriers and adherence during the intervention phase play a role in women's walking adherence reflecting patterns of adopting and maintaining new behavior.
