Whatever happened to military honor?

Article Abstract:

Canadian Gen Jean Boyle's testimony at the Somalia inquiry is an example of a bureaucrat trying to blame his subordinates for his lack of leadership. Maj-Gen Romeo Dallaire also exhibited a lack of leadership in his Rwanda command. Both men are an example of military bureaucracy at its worst.

A tasteless joke and a moral dilemma

Article Abstract:

The furor over a humorous remark made at a PEN International benefit, which hinted that certain rightist writers might learn something from imprisonment, has led to suggestions that right wing media figures lack the capacity to appreciate humor. In fact, the joke was in poor taste.

Were the Swiss banks really so different?

Switzerland and the Swiss banks are being unfairly stigmatized for dealing with the Nazis during World War II. Other nations, including Canada, have had financial relationships with countries controlled by dictators.
