When passion is dangerous

Article Abstract:

Only people can stop fanaticism because the hatred that is its foundation is human in origin. Only people can recognize fanaticism and understand its dangers before eliminating it. Fanaticism is growing throughout the world as evidenced by such things as anti-Semitism in Poland, Romania and Hungary.

A well-rounded education can prevent the development of fanaticism in society. Individuals who fear change or those who are different create social tensions and problems. The fears need to be addressed and remedied through education.
