Whose intellectual property is it, anyway? The Open Source war

Article Abstract:

Conglomerate corporations are angered at computer techies and programmers who insist on poking inside various electronic gadgets and tinkering with what is called the open-source code. What was seen in the past as a positive curiousity about the way things work is now seen as hacking. Future rulings will determine if the laws protecting intellectual property grow even stronger. If they do society may be the worse-off by nipping a source of innovation in the bud.
