Will dealers stand by Firestone?

Article Abstract:

Bridgestone/Firestone not only has to contend with possible product liability lawsuits, congressional hearings and efforts by Ford Motor to blame it for rollover deaths in Explorer SUVs but it also has to deal with tire dealer revolt. For tire dealers across the US the value of Firestone's brand has plummeted significantly after it recalled more than 6.5 million tires starting Aug 2000. Among the concerns voiced out by tire dealers over Firestone's tire recall are its effect on their service business and the lack of other viable options.

Fear and loathing to pitch Micron's makeover

Article Abstract:

Micron Electronics' relaunch as Micronpc.com will be highlighted through an advertisement created by Goldberg Moser O'Neill of San Francisco, CA, and directed by film director Terry Gilliam. Gilliam, who directed 'Brazil,' '12 Monkeys' and 'Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas,' was paid over $1 million for the project, which will demonstrate an apocalyptic vision of computer problems. The advertisement was designed to brand Micron as a PC service firm not solely focusing on PC manufacture.

Milk does a body good, but ads do the industry even better

Article Abstract:

The National Fluid Milk Processor Promotion Board and the California Milk Processor Board are credited with making milk, which is a generic product, into a brand. As a result, they have stopped a twenty-year decline in the milk consumption and increases sales of milk producers and processors. The former developed in cooperation with ad agency Bozell, Graetzer the popular "milk mustache" print ads while the latter presented the "got milk" TV campaign.
