Would you believe?

Article Abstract:

In troubled times, it is easy to believe conspiracy theories, especially after looking at the way the press is going to town in the Princess Diana case, where there are as many theories to her cause of death as there are journalists. It is however, improbable to believe that all things that have gone wrong are due to some conspiracy or the other and it is high time that people with fertile imaginations put an end to predicting the worst.

Global swarming: Bombs go off in London and from Texas to the Thames, the information superhighway goes into overdrive

Article Abstract:

The London bombings on July 7, 2005 formed spontaneous information-swarms, which usually form around large events, collecting and interpreting news and developments from every possible angle at frantic speed. Any major event in the war on terror generates wild seething among the extreme elements of the anti-war left, whose online ranks invariably rush to conspiracy theories.

Fifteen degrees of aberration

Article Abstract:

The International Cricket Council is considering a proposal allowing all bowlers to straighten their arms by 15 degrees before being reprimanded for throwing. A rather tongue-in-cheek look at how the 15 degrees cheat rule is being applied in many non-cricket arenas such as politics, Formula One racing, and even in romanticizing terrorism, is presented.
