A new take on crime
Article Abstract:
A cooperative crime prevention program called Triad was started in 1989 in an effort to help older people who are frequently the victims of crime. The concerns of older citizens are determined, and the Triad programs are created to meet the needs of individual communities.

Presidents and tax reform
Article Abstract:
A federal income tax was first imposed during the Civil War, then expired and was again put into force for good on Mar 1, 1913. Few modern presidents have been able to resist attempting their own version of tax reform. Some of these efforts are discussed.

Pres Bill Clinton planned to bring diversity into his administration and has done just that in his first 12 Cabinet appointments. On the subcabinet level, the first 157 appointments have been less diverse, but there will be 3,000 appointments in all.
