Waiting for the next wave in surfers

Article Abstract:

South-east Queensland was considered the most favored region for property investment. However, property values declined in the early 1990s and they have not recovered. Property analysts contend the market in this region looks bad, but prospects look good for the future. Furthermore, declines in interest rates should help the property market, making the region more attractive to home buyers and investors.

Unfinished hot spots

Article Abstract:

Investment in residential properties provides a safe and highly speculative opportunity. It is a relatively new market and so there is insufficient information to judge its long-term history. Investors need to determine if the saturation points have been reached in the various areas. It is possible for property investment on the whole to be a hedge against inflation than other forms of investments.
