Consumer privacy in a techno-world

Article Abstract:

The right to privacy was first defined in an article by Louis Brandeis, who later became U.S. Supreme Court justice and Smauel D. Warren, as the right to be let alone. It is not defined in the Constitution or the Bill of Rights. Federal and state laws do not set clear regulations or guidelines on privacy. AARP protects its membership information by never offering its membership lists for sale. It also monitors federal and state issues regarding privacy.

Social Security: a woman's prerogative

Article Abstract:

Any changes in Social Security should take into account the extra financial hardship retired women face. Women usually garner less Social Security earnings than men because they typically earn less than men, do not accumulate as many years in the workforce as men, and may have weaker pensions than men. Yet women often outlive men, and may need more benefits than them.
