The Retired Teachers Assn has selected Takeshi Fujita as the 1997 Retired Educator of the Year. Since his retirement, Fujita has continued to work for environmental and social causes in his native Hawaii. Finalists were Hazel G. Sorrell and Richard H. Jett.
