The Australian sharemarket is feeling the effects of the Asian crises and Australia's dollar is has been experiencing highs and lows. A look at the Bank of Western Australia (BankWest) indicates in July it is an attractive buy at 12.1 times price-earnings, in 1998-99 the earnings a share estimate was 23.1.
