Investment clubs offer safety in numbers

Article Abstract:

The Aureus Investment Club in Toowoomba, Australia was modeled after the Beardstown Ladies investment club of the United States. Its purpose was to provide a low-cost entry into the sharemarket as well as to pool the resources and knowledge of others. The idea for the investment club came about in 1996, and in 1998 it is fully operational with 14 members. Its success has followed the ups and downs of the market.

If the Australian dollar continues to fall the pressure to raise prices on new cars and lease rates will rise. The car dealers will first begin by reducing options and later are expected to implement price increases.
