Kids' money: give a little, save a lot

Article Abstract:

Putting money into investments for children may turn into a nightmare if not planned correctly. Following the 1980 tax changes in Australia, there is almost no tax advantage, and sometimes a penalty, for putting investment in children's names. Article Abstract:

Australian investor support for smaller new sharemarket floats have fallen off since 1997. While small and large company floats in 1997 outperformed the market, 7 and 17 percent respectively, 1998 presents a different picture. Local price shares began to fall and the response by investors has been lukewarm.
