Three-legged stool=stable retirement

Article Abstract:

Retirement income should come from three sources, Social Security, private investments and savings, and pensions. Social Security seems relatively safe for the foreseeable future, but most Americans do not have a pension, and the rate of savings is only 3.5% of the gross domestic product.

Standards are needed for HMOs

Managed care can help contain health care costs, but it can also result in poor quality and restrictions on services and pharmaceuticals. It is important that standards be established to protect health care consumers. More information on how to choose HMOs should also be provided.
