What's eating your super?

Article Abstract:

How much superannuation (retirement) fund money in Australia is disappearing in fees is not certain, but one estimate is A$4 bil. The annual investment management fees paid by funds are calculated by research specialist Ross Calre to be $1.9 bil per year and he estimates administration charges for to A$2.2 bil. Some think those figures are low and that another A$600 mil-$700 mil could be added for more accuracy. Members should be aware of fees and charges and consider that in the future more opportunities to move from fund to fund will be available. The complexity of the current situation discourages individuals for the most part from trying to understand the fees.
