Gone fishing

Article Abstract:

A research expedition investigated means to create fish farms to maintain fish populations in the small communities of the Manu Biosphere reserve in Peru. The fish farms could provide food and funds without over-burdening the natural population. Through interviews with local citizens, researchers decided on three species of fish that the locals preferred and would adapt easily to cultivation. Other recommendations concerning park management were also made, including an increase in park fees, a tourist tax, and increased education for park wardens.
