Spending less on efficiency

Article Abstract:

The latest energy legislation in United States seeks improvement in energy efficiency of homes and provides $1.3 billion tax credits for reducing energy costs. The law has also directed the Department of Energy (DOE) and the Environment Protection Agency (EPA) to educate people on programs like Energy Star and Energy Guide. DOE, EPA and Housing and Urban Development (HUD) have entered into a partnership for improving home energy efficiency. Americans spend $160 billion each year on energy related expenses.

International energy needs investment

Article Abstract:

According to the study conducted by the World Energy Outlook 2002, the total amount of $16 trillion are required to be invested in the energy supply infrastructure all over the world over a period of 2001 to 2030. The developing countries would need at least half the amount of the total investments and to finance these investments is a major thing, which would be undertaken probably by the private and foreign sources.
