Bromo-organic preservatives

Article Abstract:

The global bromine industry is estimated at about 500,000 tons per year. Bromine is a very reactive element and is vital to the chemical specialty industry. 3,5-Dibromosalicylanilide has antiseptic properties and is used in antiseptic and deoderant soaps. Other bromide compounds serve as antifungal agents.
