GERMANY: ACORDIS HIVES OFF LOGISTICS

Article Abstract:

A new company called Dualogis has been set up to take over the shipments and logistics operations of Acordis Industrial Fibers GmbH. The company set up by D.Logistics (51%) and the fibre producer (49%) will modernise the shipment building in Obernburg and build a new logistics centre. It will take over the 60 Acordis staff affected by the deal. With about 1,600 staff, D.Logistics generates an annual turnover of about DM 360mn.

GERMANY: CONSTRUCTION CHEMICALS R&D BY SKW

Article Abstract:

SKW-Bauchemie GmbH, a unit of SKW Trostberg AG, is concentrating research and development in the field of construction chemicals at a new complex in Trostberg. The project that will be completed in September 2002 involves an investment of DM 40mn. The new R&D centre will accommodate also a branch of the construction chemicals department of Munich Polytechnic.

GERMANY: LOGISTICS INVESTMENT BY BASF

Article Abstract:

By the first quarter of 2003, BASF is to build a 50,000-sq.m warehouse and dispatch centre at its site in Ludwigshafen. The facility near the combined transport terminal will have space for 120,000 pallets.
