In cooperation with Frankfurt-based Johann-Wolfgang-Goethe University and several professors, German chemical giant Henkel has founded Phenion GmbH & Co. KG. The new biotechnology company is located in Frankfurt and researches in the field of molecular cell physiology, mainly the cell biology of the skin.

Switzerland: Modex in skin pigment technology deal

Article Abstract:

A technology developed by professor Beat Imhof is the target of a worldwide licence agreement signed by Modex Therapeutics Ltd and the University of Geneva. The technology concerns small peptides for the modulation of melanocytes controlling the pigmentation of the skin.

In March 2001 Biocore of Sweden, a biosensor subsidiary of Pharmacia Corp, is to open a research and development facility in Neuchatel, Switzerland. In the medium term the facility will employ 50 staff.
