A symposium entitled 'Genomics and Drug Discovery' focused on the development of new therapeutic agents based on information derived from genomics. Topics presented by several scientists included researches on disease-associated genes, gene expression, analysis of gene function based on model organisms, proteomics, yeast genome sequence and the urgent need to discover new antibiotics.
