Business ethics and politics

Article Abstract:

Business ethics is related to politics in the sense that there are problems in business ethics that can be solved only by providing political solutions. Politics becomes representative of the commitment to different basic values and provides a compromise between conservative and liberal extremes. Business ethics also exists as a distinct entity from politics, particularly in terms of basic ethical norms such as sexual harassment, lying and wanton injury. Thus, business ethics has a dual relationship with politics which is distinguishable only through the issues that are involved.

Can ethical character be stimulated and enabled? An action-learning approach to teaching and learning organization ethics

Article Abstract:

An action-learning approach to organizational ethics education can address all four dimensions of organizational ethics. These dimensions include application of ethics understanding theories to macro organizational policy issues, application of the theories to ethical responsibility, affective caring about ethics and effective methods for addressing ethics conflicts. This approach can join cognitive understanding, affective concern and effective political method. Joining of cognitive understanding, affective concern and effective political method can enable ethical character.

The politics of long-term corruption reform: a combined social movement and action-learning approach

Article Abstract:

The political aspects of reforming entrenched, sometimes predatory, network-based corruption subsystems are discussed. Such aspects are often embedded in social structures sustained by interest groups who benefit from the corruption. Combined action-learning and social movement-based collective approaches can be effective against production.
