Business ethics in Islamic context: perspectives of a Muslim business leader

Article Abstract:

The Islamic perspectives on the role of business leaders in international business ethics are presented. These perspectives are offered as guidance to Muslim business leaders who are in an ethical dilemma in conducting modern business practices. Such guidance can be found in the Quran as well as in the seven ethical principles of Matsushita Electric Corp set forth by its founder, Konosuke Matsushita. The three essential components of a successful business leadership, vision, value and courage, are discussed.
