Article Abstract:

Author Ellen Klein was reckless and irrelevant in her contention that only philosophers are qualified to teach business ethics. It is argued that business ethics is not the sole property of a single discipline but is a multidisciplinary course involving sociology, psychology, anthropology, organization science, philosophy, economics and political science. The obvious success of non-philosopher business ethics teachers as well as philosophers belie Klein's claim that only those with formal philosophy credentials are qualified to teach the subject.

Mr. Penn, meet Mr. Argyris

Article Abstract:

Research work in different social science fields has yielded principles which could be used to iron out ethical problems within organizations. One effective approach is the encouragement of conversation on themes regarding the ethical issues. Within the dialogue, individuals may identify specific ethical violations and suggest ways for resolving them. They may also propose the re-assessment of accepted organizational values and their applicability for current and future situations.
