The business ethics of evangelicals

Article Abstract:

Business evangelicals are encouraged to diligently study the framework of evangelical Christians in business ethics as they are in an economically powerful position to manifest a positive influence on the public. Evangelical Christians are observed to possess four admirable traits in their business ethics which are piety, witnessing, tithing and neighborliness. An emphasis on the major role of faith in promoting moral business behavior is predicted to enable the evangelical Christian business community to successfully form long term trusting relationships with customers and clients.

Natural law and business ethics

Article Abstract:

Catholic moral teaching is analyzed through an examination of its three major historical forms, the popes' encyclical letters, the writings of the great Catholic theologians and the natural law tradition presented in manuals. Four approaches to natural law have been developed in the US during the twentieth century. These are the proportionalist, traditionalist, historicist and right reason approaches. It is asserted that Alasdair MacIntyre's claim that the natural law tradition outshines the liberal ethics of modern deontology and utilitarianism is correct.
