Neo-republican citizenship in the practice of education

Article Abstract:

Citizenship is conceived in neo-republican theory as access to political equality. This is developed through social institutions, with education for citizenship is related to but distinct from moral education. In modern society students have many ways to avoid unpleasant experiences, including the learning that often results, so escape from experience must be limited to some extent. This balances the requirement that children be allowed to be children, without the rights and burdens of citizenship.

A note on job transfer, pension portability, and compensating salary differentials

Article Abstract:

The relationship between job changes and loss of pension benefits are examined. Results indicate that perceived pension benefit losses resulting from a job change are weighed in connection with better benefits offered by a change in occupation. However, pension benefits still appear to be the prime consideration which affects a move by an individual to seek a change in jobs.

Winning the food fight

Article Abstract:

Troublesome eating habits can be prevented by setting the proper social setting for a meal, which includes turning off the TV. Toddlers should be offered a variety of food and be given a comfortable seat at the table. Avoid using food as reward or punishment.
