An international symposium on auditing Australian public sector innovations

Article Abstract:

Public sector governance must adapt to the changing conditions of the society to achieve maximum success. There is the idea of adapting private sector governance strategies to the public sector. Today, Anglo-American societies advocate commercialization, deregulation, managerialism, corporization and privatization as reform strategies. Defining and prioritizing public performance requirements

Article Abstract:

Public administrators are held accountable to the public for the performance of their staff and, thus, should be able to identify and plan out performance requirements that are intrinsically beneficial to society. They should use written laws, charters and regulations as the basis for their performance requirements review. The analysis of relevant clauses in such documents should be undertaken and priority should be given to those that have higher public value.

Strategy and organizational capacity: finding a fit

Article Abstract:

A strategic management model for public administrators should consider the limitations of the governmental environment to ensure that plans and expectations do not exceed available capacity. The design process involves removing all the misconceptions surrounding the strategic management process. It then proceeds to identify both internal and external factors and be flexible enough to allow for changes. The details of such a model are discussed.
