Corruption and international security

Article Abstract:

The Global War on terrorism has made policy analysts the world over re-think the implications of corruption for the peaceful existence of states. It is suggested that organized criminals and terrorist target weak and corruption-riddled states for their benefits and these groups work the system by assembling an extensive web of complaint officials whom they suborn to leave them alone, to facilitate their operations and financial plans.

A report from the field: Georgia's War against contraband and its struggle for territorial integrity

Article Abstract:

A report from South Ossetia shows that the government of Georgian President Mikhail Saasashvili must struggle with the twin challenges of keeping the country together while halting the flow of smuggled goods. However, Saakashvili's future approach to the South Ossetian and Abkhazian conflicts will be critical to determine whether the new government can be successful.

The significance of justiciability: legal rights, development, and the human right to water in the Philippines

Article Abstract:

A study into the serious challenges in water supply, distribution, and accessibility faced by Philippines is presented. Domestic implementation of the human right to water could be an important step towards eradicating this problem.
