Democratization falters in Azerbaijan

Article Abstract:

Issues concerning the parliamentary election s conducted in November 2000 in Azerbaijan are discussed. A short history of the political relations between Azerbaijan and the Soviet Union is presented. It is emphasized that the 2000 elections missed the opportunity foe democratic development.
