Effects of United States/European Union open skies on competition

Article Abstract:

Historically the airline industry has shown little wisdom in the timing of new orders and delivery dates of aircraft and one concern at the current large orders received by Airbus and Boeing is that price competition could be adversely affected by the injection of large capacity. It is this concern that has led the United States and the European Union (EU) to launch a fresh round of negotiations on the open skies' policy.
