Fact and fiction

Article Abstract:

Pyongyang's decision to take a nuclear test has certainly undermined the whole nuclear non-proliferation regime - the formal and informal rules and regulations gradually built since the 1960s to limit the number of nuclear powers. The nuclear proliferation is back with vengeance as North Korea and Iran have demonstrated that the world is becoming too complex to stick to rules and regulations developed under quite differential circumstances.

Isolating extremists

Article Abstract:

Collective international action that presumes a shared understanding of the problems could be effective to solve the problems at domestic level such as poverty, nuclear proliferation and climate change. The international response to the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 on the Americans has demonstrated both the value and the limits of collective action.
