Intervention in Liberia: too little, too partisan

Article Abstract:

Most foreign governments and international organizations have shied away from intervening in the Liberian Civil War. The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has, however, sent in a monitoring group, ECOMOG, which has been unsuccessful in keeping the peace. Nigeria has been the main source of money, arms and men in this effort. Some claim there has been covert American intervention. The United Nations Security Council has approved Resolution 788, an arms embargo for all participants in the conflict.

Food festivals abound in the Southern States in May, Jul and Aug 1992. Visitors must watch out for the Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival in Amelia Island, FL, the West Virginia Strawberry Festival in Buckhannon, the Annapolis Crab Feast in Maryland and the Hope Watermelon Festival in Arkansas.
