Japan will not relent on the US push to manage trade

Article Abstract:

Japan remains steadfast in its refusal to yield to US requests for 'voluntary plans' in automobile and automobile parts trade, which it believes are tantamount to managed trade. It is prepared to confront the issue before the World Trade Organization to show that these markets have been open and fair.

Trade war: battle of fools in a borderless economy

Article Abstract:

The trade dispute between the US and Japan must not be based on bilateral trade statistics alone. This is because cross-border economic activity as measured by trade data is only a fraction of the real economic relationship between the two countries.
