Japan's four excesses and the US role

Article Abstract:

Japan is currently undergoing an employment rate that is too high, excessive production capacity, excessive regulation and heavy competition. Coupled with the growing absence of political trust between it and the US, Japan is fearful that this may mar their security relationship.

Japan's gray tsunami

Japan like many industrialized nations is set to see its elderly population increase and its young workers decline. This will affect its workforce and measures need to be taken to encourage older workers to stay on and to find other strategies.
