Kodak-Fuji Film dispute and the WTO panel ruling

Article Abstract:

The World Trade Organization (WTO) Panel has settled the Kodak-Fuji film dispute in spring 1998. The US has complained about the Japanese government's measures which restricted the access of Eastman Kodak's products into the Japanese market in order to protect the domestic industry. These measures had impaired benefits accruing to the US under the WTO Agreement according to the US government. However, the WTO Panel has rejected the US arguments, and the Panel Report was adopted by the WTO Dispute Settlement Body after the US did not appeal within 60 days of its circulation.
