Mises and his understanding of the capitalist system

Article Abstract:

Ludwig von Mises felt market prices attained an equilibrium of supply and demand that would be upset by government interference. Mises, monopoly, and the market process

Ludwig von Mises felt the monopoly power of a company was balanced by the government's ability to curtail output and prevent the monopoly from forming. Mises characterized monopolies as insufficiently robust as compared to entrepreneurial activity.

Ludwig von Mises and price indexes

Article Abstract:

Ludwig von Mises linked his view of free banking to a gold standard as a corrective for inflation. Mises felt price indexes were tools only trustworthy in the hands of trained economists, yet this weakened his arguments for a gold standard.
