National adaptation to European integration: the importance of institutional veto points

Article Abstract:

Issues discussed concern the factors that influence individual European countries to effectively comply with international law and policy as set forth by the European Union. The impact of European integration on national policy-making is addressed, focusing specifically on national adaptation to the European Packing and Packaging Waste Directive.

The Internet and public-private governance in the European Union

The EU plays a significant role in public policy aspects of Internet governance, having created in the late 1990s the dot eu Internet Top Level Domain (TLD). The key public policy issues in the emergent government system for dot eu is explored because it provides an interesting case of European transnational private governance.
