Research is presented concerning the international trade agreement dispute settlement procedure which has been put in place by the World Trade Organization. The importance of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade 1994 is discussed.

Mutual recognition and its role in trade facilitation

Article Abstract:

The development of mutual recognition agreements (MRA) may prove to be beneficial for multilateral trade. Most of the accreditation and conformity assessment activities are done in western nations, where most of the world's technologies are said to be highly developed. The World Trade Organization encourages the development of multilateral MRAs to arrive at an internationally accepted technical basis for measurement and testing of standards.
