Resolving the CFE 'flank' dispute

Article Abstract:

The existence of the Conventional Armed Forces in Europe Treaty (CFE) is being threatened by strong clamor from Russia and the Ukraine to ease treaty limits in Northern and Southern Europe or the flank zone. If the two countries decide to violate CFE, other contracting countries may follow creating a new and potentially dangerous military 'hot spot.' A discussion of the seven options currently being considered to resolve the issue regarding flank zone is presented.
