US policy towards Israel: Fact and myth

Article Abstract:

The default position for American policy towards Israel is massive and essentially unconditional economic, military and political support and some of the beliefs that buttress American's sturdy support for Israel are irrefutable religious or ideological tenets. For most Americans, however beliefs reflect their understanding of facts and substantial change to US policy to be sustainable, myth will have to be displaced by fact, a process that has only begun.
