Social learning and macroeconomic policy in Britain

Article Abstract:

This article examines the United Kingdom's economic policy changes in from the Keynesian model in the 1960s to the monetarism model in the 1980s. The author, applying a social learning model, argues understanding macroeconomic policy changes requires a social constructionist approach.

Trade openness, capital openness and government size

Article Abstract:

Empirical evidence of the relations between trade openness, capital openness and government expenditures in a cross-sectional time-series context wherein it is shown that capital openness is significantly and negatively related to government expenditures is discussed.

Executive agencies in government: the impact of bureaucratic networks on policy outcomes

A policy network is operationalised to explore the impact of agentification in three British government departments. This study helps to understand the nature of agencies autonomy and provide insights for other forms of alternative service delivery.
