The Kyoto treaty: a coming of age for the human race

Article Abstract:

The 1995 Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Report entitled 'Detection of Climate Change and Attribution of Causes' concluded, after 18 months of research by 36 climate scientists, that global warming was caused by human activities. The conclusion was not welcomed by factions that threatened to call for a congressional investigation of the research findings. However, the policy makers who attended the Kyoto meeting in Dec 1997 supported the evidences presented by the researchers and recognized the global solutions needed to avert the problems of global warming.

Article Abstract:

The potential economic impacts associated with the pending introduction of the euro, the new European currency, have been highlighted. With sound long-term business practices the euro has the capacity to rival the United States dollar as an international reserve currency. Each member country's economy, business practices, and demographics will contribute to the currency's integrity. Provisions stipulated by the European Monetary Union should keep inherent risks in check.
