The microregulation of the health care marketplace

Article Abstract:

Issues are discussed regarding Increased government involvement in health plan and provider evaluation and allowing health plan members to sue their plans as ways to prevent a microregulation of the health care marketplace. The managed care system as presently designed contains incentives to cut costs which are too strong to resist and ensuring quality requires some government invopolvement.

Article Abstract:

Issues are discussed regarding the inevitability of the managed care backlash and what the forces unleashed by the backlash might mean for the future of the US health care industry is discussed. Public policy-makers should have the key role in deciding how much we want to spend on health care and for whom.
