The price of neglect

Article Abstract:

A discussion is presented on links between Iran and the Iraq government, the non-existence of a commitment in the US and the price paid for the neglect by Washington, in spite of repeated urgings on a take over of foreign policy experts and retired foreign service officers. The Democratic administration of Bill Clinton has taken swift steps to institutionalize the policy of neglect, calling it Dual Containment.

Writing on the wall

Article Abstract:

George W. Bush's re-election as the president in November 2004 has steadily increased tensions between Iran and the US. There is confusion in Washington circles over Iran policy as its perception of Iran is mediated through second and third parties due to a lack of diplomatic presence on the ground, and is thus heavily tinted by prejudice.
