Untangling the terror web: Identifying and counteracting the phenomenon of crossover between terrorist groups

Article Abstract:

For fighting international terrorism, it is important to pay more attention to the web of interaction amongst the different terrorist groups and state sponsors and offset the phenomenon of crossover between the terrorist groups, which takes place through logistical assistance, financial assistance and operational terrorist activities. To fight against terrorism and overcome the other issues like stabilization in Iraq, Israel-Palestinian peace, concerted efforts should be taken against terrorist financing.

On the money trail

Article Abstract:

The key parts of worldwide counter-terrorist strategies are tracking and stopping the money trail between terrorists and organized criminals but lawmakers have been successful only in arresting and disrupting the operatives and planners. Hence, it is suggested that attention could be more usefully directed at the alternative, unregulated means of terrorist financing, rather than at conventional money laundering.
